Barnston Island BBQ Bash (OMG BIBB)
Karl's Blog. Stardate Blah Blah Blah,
Here I go again advertising another party for all of you lovely people. All are welcome, so please come. This party will serve as a birthday celebration for my friend Dave, a year end wrap party for my soccer club, and more importantly, an excuse to just eat some BBQ and drink some alcohol.
Other than the food and refreshments, there will be a hot tub, a games room (with a bevy of game consoles and games {mainly old school and a PS2, but, I'll try to confirm which consoles will be there}), a pool table outside a la Drew Carey, and a basketball hoop. So there should be plenty to do.
Random notes:
- it is in Surrey, hence the trip will be lengthy (except for those residing within a closer vicinity)
- yes there is a ferry service, but it's free
- stay as long as you want, but, if you're not off by midnight, you're stuck on the island till the morning
- it is an herb farm. Not those kind of "herbs". So no farm animals in the way of cattle. Although, there are chickens, a rabbit, 3 dogs, a cat, and the neighbours have horses that roam.
- a map and directions to get to the party will be available immediately underneath this blog posting
- a copy of the original invite can be seen below

Hey, everybody! It's time for another BBQ!
This one's going to be a little different than usual, though, because it's
not going to be held at the McKinlays for once (bless 'em for hosting
everything else...). No, this time, I'm setting it up at my place, out on
our farm on the magical, mystical island that nobody believes I live on.
And, it's going to encompass a few things:
(1) The DSBH soccer team year-end wrap party, which we've still gotta have
(Chris Gat, get off that island and come to this one).
(2) My birthday (another year enjoyed and, ultimately, wasted).
(3) The mass consumption of animal flesh and intoxicants (take that...
people... who don't like... er... those things...).
Oh, before I forget, here are the details:
Saturday, June 12, 2004
4pm - 12 midnight
Rain or shine
Open invite AKA "Everyone is welcome"
An RSVP would be nice...
There will be burgers, hot dogs, salad, and beer, provided. If you want
anything else or something special in the way of food or drink, however,
bring it yourself. Oh, and the HOT TUB will be running (likely with cool
water during the day, and warm during the evening), so bring trunks or
whatever to soak in, if you want.
I've included a lovely, hand-drawn map as an attachment to this invitation
that shows you how to get to Barnston Island. It's in PDF form, so if you
have problems with it, or can't open it, send me a quick reply with your questions.
So, yeah. Anyone who knows me will tell you this is rare as I NEVER host
anything out here, so I hope you'll be able to make it out this BBQ. Oh,
and if you're having any doubts, I think Jason McKinlay was suggesting
getting a rotisserie and cooking something good on a spit, so you don't want
to miss that, either. =)
But, yeah. Hope to see you here!
Regards,
David Hoffmann

Hope to see you all there. Unless you're going to hang with Paige, then go party with her. The more sane people for her to hang with, the better.
Later Days.
End Transmission.
