Serenity Now! Well actually in a week.

Karl's Blog. Stardate Blah Blah Blah,

Knee's better. I can do physical activities, but, only if I wear my brace. But hey, I can play pick-up soccer (whenever my friends actually decide to play) and floor hockey again.

Last week I played floor hockey. I'm not sure why, but, for some reason I was a ball magnet. I got hit in the head, knee, thigh, back, arm, etc. with the orange floor hockey ball. Mind you I am a big target in a Notorious B.I.G. sot of way. That and the fact I usually play defense. Atleast, the shot to the head was a wrister and not a slapper. It hurt. Although, it did not hurt as bad as I thought it would. Tomorrow's game will be at noon since it is Father's Day so we could all be with our dads out of guilt . . . errr . . . I mean "appreciation".

Karaoke

Been missing Karaoke a lot. Which just means I have been working again. Boo. But yay for my bank account and allowing me to afford to hang out with friends. That is when I have the time to.

This also means I have more time to plan out and construct this mix tpae/disc for Lindsey. This all stemmed from a conversation between me and Lindsey. Or for you grammartistas, "Lindsey and I". Basically, the topic started when I said I wanted to sing "Punk Rock Girl" by The Dead Milkmen, which caused her to have a fond memory of a mix tape she mysteriously found in her car. One that would disappear from her life as mysteriously as it came. Then it brought on a discussion of the mechanic and aesthetics of a mix tape. So now I was given the project/challenge of making a mix tape/disc for her. I was given a loose theme to start with. I already have a few ideas. So this should be fun. I have not made a disc of this nature in a while. Not since the "Great Dave Challenge". A limited release that only a few know about. But the result was quite spectacular.

Concerts

According to my friend Marilyn, this summer shall be the summer of concerts. We've kicked off the season with The Arcade Fire. This upcoming weekend will an evening with The White Stripes. Only another 2-3 months of concerts to go through.

My concert schedule is already limited due to my work schedule. So no concerts Monday through Friday. Which already means no Polyphonic Spree or Tegan & Sara for me. But that's okay. I'll survive.

Work

Work is good. Long hours, but, good. It's literally like a big family. A big stressful production family. I'm taking a pay cut this season, but, that's because the guild is trying to enforce their membership. I'm not a "first three hire", but, I'm still the Locations Best Boy for a second season. Some things change, some things don't. And according to the TAD, he only had to change 3-6 names on the crew list. There has to be something if almost everyone comes back every year.

Reunion

It's coming up. It's been organized. 2 day event. The first night is basically a drinking party at the highschool in the Alumni Room. With day 2 at a golf course. The second day is supposed to cost around $200. It seems expensive at first glance, but, the guys organizing wanted to involve the A.J. Bay Foundation which funds several charities. So it is for a good cause. Still miss the guy.

Serenity

Oh yeah. There is supposed to be a viewing of Serenity next week. Should be good. So come one come all fellow Browncoats.

Later Days.

End Transmission.
