Lindsay's Mix Disc (Karaoke Edition)

Test Pattern, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 . . .

So anyway I finally made that mix disc for my friend Lindsay. It only took me half the year to get it done since I am a horrible friend. Well, for those that don't read my other blog, the stipulations for said mix was a karaoke theme. That being that all the songs had to be of a karaoke nature. Which I interpreted as songs that were performed at karaoke. I broadened to songs performed at The Vet's Club on Main and various karaoke house parties hosted by Mike. It works since they both have the same archive of songs to choose from. Despite the long hours, I still think it could still use some polishing. Anyway here it is,





I chose this primarily because it was one of Lindsay's staple songs. I also thought it would help establish the mood of the mix.



This was performed by Alex. He tends to give it his all and we tend to be afraid to follow his performances.



Another of Lindsay's signature performance pieces.



Finally, one of my songs. When I first sung this song everyone was like, "I didn't know this song was on karaoke?". And when I performed the song again at a Slack Shack party, Xian promptly aksed if he could have my babies. Basically, if I can sing along to a song as I drive, and actually know all the lyrics, then it is a good candidate for me to not crash and burn when doing it for karaoke.



This selection was primarily picked as a joke. Mariko and Lee saw footage of me on youtube meowing karaoke. Lee has a thing for cats, especially jingle cats. Mariko always tells us not to get him started. So as a joke, I did "Love Cats" with Lee meowing the tune in the background. Surprisingly, it went pretty well.



This was apparently performed by Aidan. I'm sorry to have missed it live. I mean if he can do a mean "Sexy Back", then this would have been mindblowing.



This was performed by our resident teen idol Robin. Done in only the way Robin could do. I beieve this was the same night someone tried to pick a fight with him. Not just anyone, an old grizzly hardened veteran.



I believe Mike performed this. There was debate as to who would get to do this song. It was on everyone's list, but, a lot of people (me included) felt they were not ready for the song. So kudos to Mike.



Another of my songs. You'll begin to notice a pattern to my selection of songs. Something about camp, comedy, or really bloody long,



Awww . . . we have one of Kat's songs.



An Alex selection. One where I remarked, "They have Buffy on karaoke?" Unfortunately, it is the ONLY song from the musical episode on karaoke,



This has been the song associated with Bob and I. It has been requested almost every karaoke event we attend. Although, we perform it with a slight twist. We do the "Tony Danza" variant. And hilarity ensues.



Ah, an Alex and Mike classic. Now if only I could remember who did Mercury and who did Bowie.



I don't know who nsang this song. It was someong from outside the crew, but, it was a decent rendition.



One of my favourite songs. I have done this song solo, with Bob, and with Mariko. I mean how can you not like a song that's about a night light and was used in "Tiny Toons"? Okay, Erin doesn't like it, but, she was traumatized.



I first performed this with Brendan at the Slack Shack. I was going to do it solo, but, he wanted to do it as well, so we did a duet. Later on at the Vet's Club, I proposed doing it again, but, he declined because he thought he did not do the song justice and for me to do it alone.



I've performed this song and I believe Paul performed this song as well.



I tried to sing this at Lindsay's house and failed. Failed miserably.

So there. I'm done with it. Next time I'll share the second disc I made.
